Yeah I was over Paper Planes pretty quick after it blew up cause of Slumdog Millionaire and Pineapple Express. Also I had just overplayed the s*** out of this;

Agreed but the poor punks in England grew up the same slums as the immigrants from Jamaica so they heard a s***load of it growing up and incorporated it respectfully
Also when punk first blew up there was only like a dozen punk songs for a DJ to play and he'd wear them out pretty quick so they would mix some reggae in there because It was the only other thing punks wanted to hear (and bands would do alot of reggae covers cause they had such tiny repitoirs at first)
