what you were doing sounds like an unreleased big star song from radio city

like even in the vocals it deadass sounds like alex chilton to me

It’s so good. They perfectly distilled that early 70’s soft rock sound. I definitely hear the Big Star in there too, but they’re also channeling Sunflower era Beach Boys as well.

im sometimes weary of bands that are heavily inspired by previous decades cause it can come off as a bit derivative. but if you have fantastic songwriting like they do, i don't have any issues

This album is phenomenal. I can’t believe I had never heard of it before. Like Nick Drake and Roy Harper with a touch of early solo Paul McCartney. Some of the best acoustic playing I’ve ever heard, incredibly haunting vocals, and a bit of chamber pop flourishes sprinkled throughout.

I feel like anyone in here could find something to appreciate on at least a handful of the tracks. There’s some really surprising shifts in the songs.
