Your ever read Room to Dream, the Lynch biography/memoir thing?
No but I just got his book Catching The Big Fish for Xmas
One of the hosts on a music channel I listen to said the new Smile record is better than anything Radiohead has done since Hail To The Thief. It’s like c’mon, HTTT isn’t even very good and nothing on this new record (other than maybe Bending Hectic) is touching the highest highs on any of the albums after that.
This is obviously awful, but I almost had a heart attack for a minute thinking Brian himself had died. It’s so sad he’s going through this. She was his angel when he needed her most.

Damn he really loves meditation doesn't he.
I'm digging Room to Dream so far, has a really fun format where it alternates between biography chapters and then chapters where Lynch comments on those bits of his biography to provide a sort of memoir as well

Weren't you pretty underwhelmed by Bending Hectic?

On first listen as a single. It grew on me a ton when listening in the context of the album. Under Our Pillows is my favorite on the record overall, but Bending Hectic feels the most in competition with actual Radiohead songs.
ok this is warmth
Yeah it’s getting cold out so I need something to counter balance lol.
i listened to the first three songs of that Smile record
It’s definitely worth listening to the rest. There’s a few tracks that break from this (at least in parts), but it’s all just a little too sparse and “cinematic” feeling. The film score work that both Greenwood and Yorke have been doing have definitely had an effect on their approach to songwriting—which I don’t think is always for the best.

This doesn’t reaffirm your approach. I don’t need to sit with an album for a quarter of a year before moving on. All my point highlights is that context and a few more chances to take something in can help.

Quarter of a year is generous for Elric

"a few more chances to take something in can help"
is literally all I'm saying and I wish you'd do that before you start expressing negative opinion after one listen. You always end up taking it back.
can’t wait to be a s*** this summer
