I still have a lot more albums to listen to, but these were the 2023 albums that stuck with me. It was a really good year for music. I said the same thing on Twitter, but it’s worth repeating on here with the fam.

Yeah it’s definitely growing on me. It’s a nice easy listen. That Roy Harper record is great. You should check out his album Flat Baroque & Berserk when you get a chance. It’s a much more straight forward singer/songwriter stuff, but it’s got a few of my favorite folk songs ever written on there.

Listening to Badfinger

Songwriting is good. It's not just catchy hook - verses - dramatic moments assembly anymore. These songs take multiple shapes through highly dynamic variations. He was getting there on Donda but this outclasses it easily. These songs have an inner kinetic energy beyond the histrionics.

Was never really a fan to begin with. Have even less interest with hip hop these days that isn't MIA or Burial.
