You can tell alot about a person by asking who their favorite band of the 90s is
as y'all probably know mine is Pulp.
I suspect y'all got;
Rise - Oasis maybe Pumpkins
Fella, Lordie - Radiohead
Koala, Raise, Galaxy - Red House Painters
Eric, Gordon - AIC
Ponytail - Dino Jr
RVI - XTC or something
Bizzle, VB - American Football or BTS or something
for me it's... Phish
runner ups Alice in Chains then Pavement
xtc only had 2 albums in the 90s anyway
Know I'm late but, best artists of the 90s are IMO:
1. Lisa Germano
2. Fugazi
3. Red House Painters
4. Tortoise
5. Built to Spill
6. Dirty Three
7. Low
8. Nine Inch Nails
9. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
10. Morphine or Mercury Rev
HM: OutKast, Cul de Sac, Liz Phair, Yo La Yengo, Tom Waits
Probably forgetting some,
1. Nobody listens to Lisa Germano
2. Listen to Minor Threat instead
3. Cool
4. Nobody knows this band
5. Built to spill sucks
6. who
7. what
8. Hell yeah
9. I tried to get Nick Cave but I just don't
10. You made this band up
for me it's... Phish

xtc only had 2 albums in the 90s anyway
But one of those two XTC albums was up there with their best
I've been obsessed with Apple Venus 1 this year

two bands that gave me major fomo cause I couldn't dig them. AIC at least sunk in heavy.

I'm not sure Modest Mouse dropped a bad song between 1995 and 2003
show me a good one
I’ll have to revisit it with that in mind. That’s really interesting. I was kind of baffled when I saw Scaruffi rated it the highest in their discography. I generally don’t really care about his opinion on work I love (mostly like him for discovering new things), but I’m curious sometimes. However I wanna fight him over his Lemon Twigs takes.
I guess it's because of Hell's . Highly doubt he'd rate it this highly without it. I like his take on them because it shines a positive light on their early albums even though I think he underrates their 90s work due to his usual disdain for "sappy" music.
Hey he changed RHCP to RATM
I’m more willing to go to bat for RATM than RHCP even though I love those funky dudes
I love the Pumpkins, but RHCP and Korn > Radiohead is crack talk. My favorite band from the 90’s might be Suede tbh. Also get back to me on that song I said sounds like their best ballads.
I was a metalhead before an indie boy so those first 4 Korn albums > the first 3 Radiohead albums to me. I’ll take riffs over sensitive soundscapes when it comes to rock music.
i used to be a huge radiohead fan started listening to them in middle school but now i’m on the air they’re overrated
They are absolutely properly rated. True geniuses and masters of their craft in every way. Making something like Ful Stop 3 decades into your career? Mind boggling
Tbh I know it doesn't seem like it but RVI and I kinda have vastly different opinions on everything and our main connection is just the desire to leave no rock unturned (excuse my pun). nobody else gives a f*** about doing as systematic dive into every notable thing in rocks and rolls history as we been doing.
And yeah i know those examples seemed specific but it could also be like that other Japanese song I posted earlier. That could also be made is the west but it's such potent guitars it doesn't matter to me at all.
yeah its a weird dynamic of only having the big disagreements on things because we are generally in similar ballpark in the first place
like we'll both agree overall on an artist but disagree completely on what their best stuff is. or have a few puzzling examples of goats that the other one cant get into at all
Yeah but who's your favorite p***star
All my favorites keep killing themselves
F**et, Daddy and Freak on a Leash
Out of context, this just sounds like you having sexual fetishes
