man, looking back 1996-2000 was a crazy time for pop music. Went from the Spice Girls phenom right into the Backstreet Boys/‘Nsync phenom, which went right into the Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera phenom. It was impossible to escape any of those artists even if you didn’t listen to pop radio or watch MTVI used to hate all of those boy bands back then, thought I was way too cool for it while I was jamming Korn and Limp Bizkit
I do enjoy it now though, you throw on some BSB and it’s a party.

Someone got me that one Hootie and the Blowfish album on cassette for my 5th birthday, that’s the first one I remember owning

Pretty quickly I transitioned from Will Smith and Puff Daddy to Wu-Tang and after that I just thought everything I saw on MTV was lame pretty well. Eminem and Outkast big exceptions.
