Starting to embark on my deeper dive to Brazilian music
Bosa Nova for de layed back summer groove
It’s time
I already know that my approach to evaluating art is antithetical to everything you care about but you could at least respect my process
I'm still very much on 1972
Fooled me
thought you already dove in
ive only heard like 60 albums so far. i mean DEEPER dive. going to try to watch some docs, read a few books.
peeping some stuff from the 1930s rn
Jorge Ben is the only goat ive gone a bit deeper on and heard like 8 albums. a lot of those other MPB legends ive just heard the main few from and dont really know much context. (Gal Costa, Milton Nascimiento, Marcos Valle, Caetano Veloso, etc.). also havent heard much bossa nova or samba or much 21st century stuff at all
flirted with the idea of doing a long running project jumping around each country doing deep dives like how you're doing year by year @Elric and also learning some of the context/general history along with it
Starting to embark on my deeper dive to Brazilian music

You just a d***rider

Don't think you'd like my favorite rap this decade but in general, not alot of my fav records this decade so far are rap

Sending hugs
stay strong woof
donda trash and both future albums are better
Trash is a bit hyperbolic but it definitely has excess bloat
donda trash and both future albums are better
Sounds like an objective and balanced opinion nephew

Lol pretty well nobody but srs music fans could even name 60 English language albums and you're out here acting like 60 for such a niche country isn't a deep dive. Of course you can always go deeper but id wager you can name more Brazilian albums than most Brazilians.
Used to think this but I'm off the vulture train already
To even consider Vultures being better indicates you've never heard of recency bias. I know you have but

we must go deeper
and niche? idk, its seeming like they are strong contender for country with the deepest and richest musical traditions

I guess samba and bossa nova put it a few tiers above countries that haven't come up with any internationally recognized genres
was gonna say it's not like Portuguese is very widely spoken but apparently it's the 6th most spoken on earth somehow
there are more Brazilians than I thought
Sounds like an objective and balanced opinion nephew
vulture was better than donda it was pretty disappointing outside of the stadium performances ino
