There's a strong decidedly stoner vibe on Rubber Soul and White Album that's just the absolute comfort zone for me
i get that
Best of the white album smoking everything they’ve done
The rest is just icing
Sometimes your posts read like my exact thoughts

Probably the greatest melodic songwriting team in the history of music but that's not a bold take at all
With the best voices to boot
Red Money should be in discussion for best Bowie closing tracks (even though that's tough competition)
With the best voices to boot
Best vocal team of all time is the ladies on Pandora's Box but if you wanna give it to the Beatles for longevity sakes, I'll concede

You don’t think the Everlys or Elvis are better?
probably my fav on the album besides DJ and Look Back in Anger
In contrast to all his closers? Is it even in your top 5 from him?
I feel like I'm going crazy over this but is Abbey Road not as deep as a puddle in comparison to their rest of their '65-'69 songwriting?. George brought his A game but I can't read anything into the lyrics of the rest of the songs other than what they express up front.
Lennon admitted the second half didn't mean a f***ing thing and was just a bunch of white album leftover stitched together. I know y'all go crazy for it and it is great but even the Beatles didn't take it seriously.
most of the beatles lyrics dont really do much for me besides a few highlights. theyre just fine and normal i guess

There's only one team that transcends time and space and taps into the ancestral plane of vocal synergy

Their sad songs are devastating: Julia, For No One, She’s Leaving Home

I've got lots of singers over the Beatles but we're talking songwriting partners
That guy covered it
Yeah my boy Elliot, but it’s not as interesting without all of them harmonizing. It kinda defeats the magic of the song to just be one guy—even if I still like his take on it.
Fine and normal
yup
most of their lovey dovey songs dont hit me hard. the psych abstract ones are pretty cool. kinda surprised if anyone considers them top tier lyric writers i thought kind of the point was that its more the ideal pop lyrics and not something super deep like dylan
id enjoy them almost as much if i didnt speak english at all. almost all the emotion i feel from them has nothing to do with the actual lyrics

A prairie boy like yourself should be able to appreciate the peak high lonesome harmonies
never thought about it but putting lennon or mccartney on any list of greatest lyricists would have never crossed my mind
