No I waited to hear it in a car. It’s got a good consistent rhythm and aimless mood with the vocals, but as a song it didn’t really do anything for me.

nah Peter Hook is the king of late 70s/80s bass. Nobody's touching how iconic his lines are. I feel like the Cure would be second place.

And I'm going to give the Cure best guitarist

if were being real, jah wobble had the best post punk bass lines, imo

He had a distinct style for sure, but the effectiveness with which hooky would provide the real backbone for every JD/NO classic is unparalleled by anybody except like McCartney

It’s great drumming for sure. It could grow on me as a song. I like it fine as a little mood piece.

  • Chameleons tho have my favorite drumming of the era.

I just don’t know how much I’m going to sink into a b-side from a band I really only like one album from.

They're definitely not as strong of a b-side band as all the other classics that you already know about, but that particular song is top tier hear from me. And the Banshees are easily a top three band of the '80s for me and I love like half a dozen of their albums.

Which album you like? Tinderbox after one week?

Which other albums have you listened to?

I'm not sure if it's recency bias but Peepshow seems like their mastapiece

  • In other news this was an awesome discovery. It’s like if Syd Barrett made really eerie goth music in the early 80’s.

I'm not a massive fan of the first two albums either. They got so much better. Peepshow has a stately beauty I think you would enjoy more than the early stuff.

Does this mean you haven't heard Juju? Cause that's also a staggering masterpiece no exaggeration. It's like their P***ography or Unknown Pleasures.

That’s how I think about Lisa Germano. Maybe @Galaxy and @Aruji would dig it.

If Juju was the only album they ever made they would probably still be known as the goth overlords
