Hosianna Mantra I think def has some of that psychedelic 60s sound in it but I do agree that it’s definitely not a stereotype. I def f*** with Krautrock just not something I listen to a whole lot atm. But yeah usually when I get attracted to music that doesn’t sound like a stereotype it usually ends up being more recent music. Like I think Kevin Penkin’s soundtrack for Made in Abyss sounds like virtually nothing from any decade (moreso got elements of classical music and certain japanese video game soundtracks but still quite it’s own thing) which is something I listened to quite a bit recently.

I would say Rock Bottom from Wyatt doesn’t really sound like any other decade but that is something I don’t see myself listening to either despite me thinking it is a strong body of work.

yay nothing is really "timeless". Even Rock Bottom show that it's part of the Canterbury scene of Progressive Rock (Caravan, Soft Machine, Henry Cow, Mike Oldfield etc.).

For example, I love Led Zeppelin but for they are like stereotypical late 60s Hard Rock hence I think that less common artists of that era might be appeasing due to them sounding different.

    btw are you Mr. Yeezy?

imo timelessness doesnt exist and it doesnt matter anyway. something sounding "of its time" is neither a bad or good thing and depends entirely on the individual listener's perspective

    that wasn't my point tbh.

Something that sounds out of it's time might be a better way to get into a decade's music because it gives more perspectives, which in turn can inspire one to find out more. At least that's what happened with me when it came to the 90s.

I prefer movies that are very of their time, but it’s not as big of a deal when it comes to music.

o yea guess i do disagree, doesn't sound timeless to me, it sounds a bit like really good folky s*** from that time, just more special and combined with the jazziness. it sounds kinda similar to some of his other stuff. but i think it is more unique sounding (at least from my pov) than those other albums of his/that style for sure, and extremely mystical so it makes sense how one could consider it timelessly singular
