i did like the ending but it was overall kinda boring for me im sorry

keep in mind im watching a lot of these things from film pleb perspective and just rating on pure enjoyment only. not sure if im ready to appreciate noir or dusty mystery type of things even if i can already appreciate some dusty (pre 80s?) movies of certain genres

maybe some of it has to do with me already being from southern california and finding anything related to that 'water wars' thing boring and dry as hell

One of the things bout DDL that has me kinda ehh are his lack of roles in modern times. It’s always some pre 1950’s or historical pieces, like that’s a DDL role.

most cinemas are either full of blockbusters with clichees seen a bazillion times, biopics, domestic dramas set 100 years ago, queerbaiting, pseudo-edgy films. When queerbait and pseudo-edginess coincides it can interest me.

don't think this fact would even occur to me if you didn't tell me lol i think I probably prefer period movies. In his earlier days he did alot of stuff that took place in modern times but that was 20-30 years ago.

Dune 2 and especially Furiosa already made this a notable year imo. If Nosferatu slaps like earlier Eggers then it's a very solid year just off those.
