I hated him back then. Thought he was the ultimate college white guy. Tbf i was the prick back then. Miss him too.

    Why did Sufi leave again?

Lol I was oblivious to both of you being pricks but apparently I'm also one so can't remember why Sufi left

I guess you'd like this one. They are like Pyrrhon minus the strong Post Hardcore influence and the psychedelic solos. More leaning into Post Rock influences like other Metal you like.

Not sure I'm familiar with Pyrrhon for the comparison but I'll try to listen soon

i was able to get into all the dissonant death/black metal stuff a lot more last year. definitely one of the more interesting movements going on in metal in the past decade or so

that's basically all metal I've heard from last decade until recently. Jute Gyte, Pyrrhon, Mastery etc.. I liked but now have gained far more appreciation for it. Really made Metal one of the more inventive genres of past decade looking back tbh.

I'd add Mitochondrion. Only listened to their debut so far but it's fantastic. A bit long but omg it's so engulfing and has some of the most interesting drumming I've heard. The highs are very high. Even though I'm not sure if it's really dissonant death. RYM says otherwise. Definitely Blackened Death but it has it's fair share of dissonances.

EDIT: ok it's not dissonant Death. listening now again. however, it rocks.

this is a masterpiece and one of the best tracks I've heard over past months.

Gonna listen to Portal and Artificial Brain soon.

Not exactly metal but that State Faults album is still my fav joint of the 2020's so far. Monumental in the scene
