Yup one of the strongest growers ever too. I always loved it but it really keeps getting better with each listen even after decades.

thats also why The Deserter from '39 instantly became one of my favourite French films (then I found out the director is Russian of course). you gotta check it out.

yeah hes not as guilty for sure. even his dry stuff is more like a Japanese or Scandinavian type (which I enjoy tremendously) than the dreaded French type.
