For one thing I don’t really think Fincher was ever overrated. His movies almost always Either got maligned or went under the radar until TSN and even then that kinda remains the only movie he’s ever had that was widely loved all over

I can see the denis - nolan comparison though in regards to reception even though I feel denis gets love from the “real film” types who are the type to hype up film school directors while Nolan always got love from general audience types
