Man I already l know it didn’t need confirmation, I caught some of that Billy Bob episode on JRE. One of the realest down to earth dude out there.

He even mentioned The Allman Brothers

Think I’ll look into that Landman series

Ben E King era of The Drifters is the dopest s*** ever. Lieber & Stoller production changed everything, paved the way for Spector and Motown. I can make you a playlist if you have Spotify.

Ray Charles arguably the king maestro of it all

Nina Simone might've overtaken Aretha as the queen for me

Otis Redding had an amazing run of albums

P-Funk and Sly Stone always have a few devastating soul tunes on their albums

The Temptations and Supremes had unreal runs. Four Tops, Miracles, Vandellas as well.

already know you like Touissaint so you should dive into Fats Domino

    Isaac Hayes
    Curtis Mayfield
    Isley Brothers

worth hearing at least a handful of albums from each of those

for James Brown i'd recommend checking out Star Time since its probably the greatest compilation ever

lot of crossover into funk and not just soul for all these im naming though tbf
