Jay Z really had the goddamn Avengers to produce for him on The Blueprint . Total cheat code
10 tracks between prime Bink, Kanye and Just Blaze
and a Timbaland banger in the middle just for the hell of it
Watched that Tracklib video breaking down the samples behind the beefs and Ye's Doors flip on "Takeover" was insane. 2000s Ye was just different, man..

I was a Doors fan before I heard that so it's never quite hit for me

So you can't appreciate it because you're familiar with the song
but I imagine you knew The Turtles song (Gene Clark) and King Crimson songs before MBDTF released. How are those different?

I did not know that Turtles song and anyways its way way more subtle than the Five To One sample. Didn't really know King Crimson in 2010 either.
Trying to think of any song sample that I like more than the song itself
Songs I already liked beforehand that is

Hmm.. fairs then. I still think it's easy to be in awe by a sample even if you know the sample but to each their own...

I don't think the Doors sample was a waste at all though. Even if you know the song the Doors flip is extremely impressive...
Comparing prime producer Ye to 2024 Vultures Ye
what world are we living in.

Hard Knock Life one of my top 5 most formative rap albums

Yeah I wouldn't recommend this for anybody that wasn't a diehard. Werckmeister, Damnation and Turin Horse alot more accessible just cause of the runtimes

Producers who actually dig in the crates to find the perfect sample always impress me, gotta figure it takes a lot of effort and music knowledge.
Im p bad at recognizing samples right off except when Paul & Juicy do Isaac Hayes or Willie Hutch
