Yup, I don't hold the performance aspect too much against him. Just wish he would re-record those terrible sounding AI parts/songs. The production is downbeat and mellow enough to allow him to match it with a less expressive performance. The problem is in his prime he was one of the most charismatic and energetic rappers ever so people may be thrown off by that and using it against him to deliberately downplay the intentions
i haven't dug that deep into which of those few parts are AI (partly due to not wanting them to sound off in my head)
but i do think there is kind of an awkward convo to be had about the concept of AI voice filter usage like this being different than other AI use in art. i dont like the uncanny valley aspect, potential laziness and am also against it being potentially very hidden to the public but the actual creative use itself isnt inherently bad imo. An artist imitating themselves to get a certain effect, its a lot different than generating music or imitating someone else IMO. in a way the computerization of instruments, vocal processing and autotune (which already had its pros and cons) now just taken to the next level. could absolutely see an artist cooking up some weird s*** using different imitations of their own voice to achieve an effect that was never possible before
I'm just not sure where Kanye's usage falls in the spectrum of laziness vs. using as a tool to achieve a certain goal

The cadence of his voice and pronunciations can be very strange sounding in the AI songs. There's at least 2 songs with great overall melodies on there but are 100% AI still
U2 dropped another EP
i still didnt listen to the first one from this year
both are 10/10

idk how everyone got so good at spotting AI in music but I couldnt tell you where its used if there was a gun to my head. half the people in the Bully thread seem certain All The Love is AI and the other half say its not so I have no idea whats going on with that.
and yeah we're used to spicier vocal performances but its not like he hasn't done monotone delivery before when it suits the song, and its not like alot of other rappers dont also do that (as you said). f***in Aubrey been doing that for the past decade and not in a riveting way at all.
both are 10/10
@Elric curious what your thoughts on Last Breath are, since im guessing you probably had no idea who Peso Pluma is or that wave of music

one poster earlier said All The Love nearly brought him to tears then he found out it was AI and decided he hates it
crazy to me cause like its too late, it already got an emotional response from you. cat is out of the bag.
other people were saying Kanye fed his voice through an Ai Kanye voice replicator or some s***
like what. s*** is especially hard to spot when hes already doing a processed Daft Punk/Troutman sound with all the vocals. probably an Only One type of thing would be easier to spot.
he said in an interview last year he sees it as a new tool of creativity to speak to your last point but apparently has backtracked idk.

if its just him lazily having ty dolla sing-rap some bs and throw the Ye filter over it and call it a day
think i read read thats what some Vultures 2 was but still cant even bring myself to digest that one

All the Love is definitely AI. so is the last track. The way he says certain words is a dead giveaway.
'wounds get healed with time' is so clearly inhuman in its delivery and falling inflection.
'allda luhh and allda shiii' is clearly through an AI filter that was unable to capture every syllable properly
THIS ONE HERE
"Kicked out a ego and outta de doooo" right away it's clear as day that the AI filter isn't properly capturing the original singer's lyrics.
When he says 'I'm going to work , babe, I'm going to work' sounds like "im-boing to work bay, i going to worrr' once again unable to capture every word properly
That whole entire final song is filled with it, I'd be quoting the whole song to make my point.
And then other songs have portions of AI including PREACHER MAN's first section. When he says "WE PASS on the settlements" the PASS sounds messed up from the AI filter
@Elric curious what your thoughts on Last Breath are, since im guessing you probably had no idea who Peso Pluma is or that wave of music
Ngl hate that song. Ye sounds clunky on it and the vibe of the song doesn't fit the album whatsoever

my employees are all Chileans that pound reggaeton all day if I let them lol I knew who peso pluma was even before he had a guest spot on Vultures 2. got pretty acclimated to bad bunny over the last couple years too.
but im not really a fan of Last Breath. its so out of place that I feel like it might just be a gesture toward the latin community, remorse for allying himself with Trump/ICE. probably giving him too much grace but maybe.

This One Here is the one that has stuck out as sounding weird to me. i wasnt really able to tell if some parts were even supposed to be kanye because of how different it sounds
Ngl hate that song. Ye sounds clunky on it and the vibe of the song doesn't fit the album whatsoever
thought it was horrific at first but i think it crossed over into so-bad-its-good territory
definitely the most bizarre song on the album

Yup and it's a shame because if Ye performed it properly, even under a bit of sedation, then it'd be top tier, but the AI on the whole track is really distracting and obvious

peso pluma not really reggaeton (besides maybe a few crossover songs ive not heard?) but i guess that makes sense. wasnt really sure if the current mexican wave of music crossed over with other hispanic people tbh since a lot of mexican music is kind of its own world that is seen a lot differently by other nationaliteis
if its just him lazily having ty dolla sing-rap some bs and throw the Ye filter over it and call it a day

weird times man

how much do you not give a f*** @RASIE
Omg the verses on the THIS ONE HERE are the worst offenders in this whole album
"You ain never felt the choo lo"
"When the eening gets dahhkest"
It's Kanye's voice but so un-Kanye in performance in every way. This brother needs to record this track properly and he's got a heater on his hands
how much do you not give a f*** @RASIE
whatever. To me it takes away from the song when the AI doesn't capture the intention of the performance properly, muddles words, and phrases things awkwardly enough to notice

my crew definitely more down with the Puerto Rican music than anything else including Chile

I just said that cause I know Rasie loves This One Here and im gonna bet he won't give a s***. I cant pretend that I can hear it but I havent done a proper headphone listen yet so maybe that will illuminate the flaws.
