the emotions in anime is almost real even if the characters aren't real, but the emotions in live action is fake by real people

i could also say you're missing out on one piece, jojo's bizarre adventure, and hunter x hunter

it's worth reading/watching one long manga/anime over multiple ones and films

i missed out on gintama long ago but i'm glad i'm around half way done now

Variety is the spice of life buddy

I was hyper focused on my 1944 cinema studies a few months ago when @risecrashing demanded I watch Chainsaw Man and I enjoyed it enough that I did Berserk, Fist Of The North Star, Royal Space Force, Ninja Scroll and probably some other anime. Was nice to switch things up for a while.

My gf hates non Ghibli anime but she just had to suck it up for a while.

If you want to do a recommendation swap and make me watch a short and sweet anime I'd be down just to make you experience some live action Japanese cinema.

i had variety when i was younger, but then i realized the best shows are really long. films are too short. quality over quantity.

I don't think that's what quality over quantity means but fine.

@Elric you can pick one of these two recommendations. one is short while the other is somewhat long. kino's journey (2003 version, 13 episodes, episodic) or monster (74 episodes, has a main plot, realistic with no superpowers)

if you want something in the middle, then mushishi (49 episodes, episodic)

kino's journey and mushishi also don't have superpowers like monster

@Elric i haven't seen it, but if you liked fist of the north star, then you will also enjoy jojo's bizare adventure, which was influenced by it and it's similar, but you probably won't watch since it's too long altogether

if you like strategy and military, code geass (50 episodes, has a main plot, only a few have a superpower)

    i cosign code geass

    death note too (37 episodes)

similar to code geass with the strategy. you'll like it if you're into detectives and investigation.
