Happened again with "Waves" on TLOP
Yeah Waves is truly euphoric and necessary before the come down of FML/Real Friends/Wolves
Same with Waves on Pablo
Hindsight is 20/20 I guess
He's never been shy about trusting collaborators. Even though he's an egomaniac, he's still level headed enough to understand perspective

Collaboration is crucial. Even a musical savant like Prince knew this

However he crafted his opus entirely single-handedly
Humble Mumble, Toilet Tisha and Stanklove on side two is what pushes it ahead of Aquemini for me
Toilet Tisha is so damn good. Such an interesting track but also really exemplifies the theatrical feeling of the album. Same with Red Velvet. S*** is really a rap opera.
And of course you love Stanklove haha so aggressively psych.
However he crafted his opus entirely single-handedly
And Kanye produced his opus 99% single handedly

If you wanna hear euphoria, i have been playing this fan edit a lot recently that mashes up/recreates older drafts of Waves and the album version, and it is perfection
That super long angelic intro with Theo and Post's crooning > beat drop & "STEP UP IN THIS B**** LIKE" works so damn well

Dont be fooled by the "LEAKED VERSION" title, this is most definitely a fan edit. But it's extremely well done.

Im ngl I hate most of the 2015-2019 era fan edits where they just throw as much s*** at a wall and make it as over the top as possible because they think MBDTF is the only blueprint for making a Kanye song. And that one is no exception
they're just doing too much
Don't get me started on the goddamn "Law of Attraction/Use This Gospel" fan edits with 45 vocal layers, 2 guitar solos, 6 different verses, and that damn Kenny G solo tacked on with no cohesion whatsoever. None of these fan edit producers actually know how to make a song, they just overproduce the s*** out of demos and call it a day. Mbdtf is not a replicable product and it's less over-produced than people claim it to be imo
The last point was kinda off topic I just hate when mbdtf gets criticized because of musicality bombast and gets dismissed as over-produced

Which opus in particular? Or are you referring to his magnum opus

Debut. And yes i meant Magnum opus, to me

I know what you mean but i didnt think this one was over produced at all tbh. I mean the post and theo stuff and the "Return to Innocence" sample is unchanged from the leaked Swish era, just mixed very well into the fan edit.
Only thing that was really heavily altered was a recreation of the old version's outro to turn it into that long intro music.
It's the only kind of fan made Kanye thing i've heard that i liked since the stuff created by MR. TROUBLESOME on the OG KTT. (His "Family Business" homage was one of my favorite things ever and i can no longer find it anywhere 😭😭)
Have a great bday @Elric
