Been thinking of my list of favorite debut albums and I had a thought. If the Genesis debut was some random band from that era, it would be considered a cult classic. They do a great job blending The Moody Blues with The Zombies. Bad reputations for certain debut records tend to be based on the audience they garnered later, when they’re contrasting them against the sound they’d be more well known for. Similar thing happened to Primal Scream. Their debut should be held up there with The La’s and The Stone Roses, as far as ushering in the next decade of popular British music.

Pablo Honey also gets thrown away into the dirt. Not an amazibg album but it's not nearly as bad as people say it is and it just gets further dumped on because their subsequent stuff is so acclaimed.
