Dirty Three is an Australian Post Rock band led by Warren Ellis, who is now with the Bad Seeds. A trio of drums/percussion, guitar and violin. Actually rather dreamy and sentimental music.

As for bands who fit that description,

Faust (lowkey the first Post-Rock band.)
Ghost (the Japanese Psych group)
Acid Mothers Temple can be that but they're basically every iteration of Psych, Acid or Post Rock imaginable.

most Post-Rock that doesn't sound like a GYBE ripoff is actually pretty chill (most of them sounded like Slint ripoffs before GYBE). Lonely, sad and sometimes very loud. However, not really creepy.

you should try Toby Driver's In the L..L...Library Loft and Natural Snow Buildings's The Dance of the Moon and the Sun.

their music has Post Rock elements here and there.
