    Yeah. Few exceptions that I like

    • It Takes a Nation
    • Paul's Boutique
    • 3 Feet High and Rising
    • Paid in Full

    But neither of those few are even in my top 30 hip hop i don't think

    the best 80s albums top the best 90s albums imo. 90s are a bit overrated imo.

    i feel like rap was still in its formative stage in the 80s. too nascent to be considered prolific in the same way the 90's were. not as much output. I feel the same way about rock music in the 60's even though some of my favorite albums are from that decade.

    aight now imma wait for someone to school me about how hip hop actually started in the 70's :word:

    I think that the formative years of genres can be very creative before a genre falls into it's own stereotypes (imo what happened to rock in the late 50s & 60s). Then again, it needs to evolve and I'd never say it didn't in the 90s when it comes to Hip Hop.
