    Kind of hard to describe what I mean but do you guys find that bands that end up being your favourite are often the ones that you're able to memorize all the words to fastest and maybe sing along to the most naturally?

    to a degree. vocals are a massive make or break for me so all my faves naturally stuck in my head pretty fast.

    I mean I kinda get you but some of my favourite bands have lyrics that are completely unintelligible. Nobody knows what the f*** Elizabeth Fraser is saying most of the time

    I don't know what Costello was on for This Years Model but every word of that album stuck in my head immediately and are really fun to sing. Same with Kinks and Pulp and Dylan most of the time. Wish I could remember useful things in life this well

    i dont memorize much tbh besides the ones i really sing. especially complicated ones. even if i am paying attention to/appreciating the lyrics

    Yeah same with Thom. That's the flipside, those songs can stay enigmatic forever cause you're never really sure what they're about. However I feel everyone has a few songwriters whose lyrics they relate to which can bore deeper into your psyche than a singer whose basically just an instrument.

    I guess you metropolis dwellers that don't drive and have neighbors stacked all around you have less opportunities to shred your throat singing along to your favorite jams
