Its been a few years since I’ve seen it, really forgot how much I enjoyed it. I am about to finish part 2, and I still don’t get why they gave their guns up to a stranger, idk why that always bugged me lol
    Which part are you on?

I think they gave up their guns because he was an “officer”. I finished 3 last night and it’s definitely top 3 QT for me. I don’t really care about the differences but the first 2 and last 2 parts could’ve been released as separate movies tbh. But I think he is too attached to theaters for that.

psych is f***ing wank for the most part. pure psych rock is prolly my least fav/least listened genre

What's pure psych rock to you lol

The few times you've actually sat through something for me you were like Yardbirds, Pretty Things "that isn't what I thought it was gonna be"

The kind I cherish is opposite of wank, generally shorter more concise jams that focus on songcraft over virtuoso musicianship. That's why I can't stand the Grateful Dead.

The Sam Jackson monologue to the general might be my favorite part of the whole movie. I hadn’t really thought of that before, but you’re right they really could’ve been separated up if he wanted to.

    What’s your top 3 QT?

boycotting psych thread till Face To Face, Something Else and Preservation Society get added to op

how is T2 more psych than KInks? a 1973 live album from Hawkwind?

Small Faces - There Are But Four is way better than Ogdens

Rolling Stones - Flowers their best psych rekkid

    Band Of Gypsies isnt psych

dont add folk cause its a slippery slope till trash ass Incredible String Band show up Its A Beautiful Day is close enough. also first couple Fairport,

psych country should count Gilded Palace Of Sin

    cracks knuckles

ill add Preservation Society once you explain how its pysch , the previous 2 i can see enough to add

i think T2 is prog+psych+hard combo, for me the lead guitar is pure psychedelic. comparing Boomland to a normal prog+hard rock album its easier to see how much trippier it is. but its definitely more along the offshoot psych styles than the og pure psych rock

ill put the small faces one further up, further down the chart isnt ordered very much

ill add Flowers wasnt really thinking of it cuz its a comp, i have it arranged different in my library

Band of Gypsys is absolutely psych lol, yes its more funk influenced but i dont see how he lost any of the psychedelia of Electric Ladyland besides the studio trickery. guitar is still the pure essence of acid rock itself. I think we both know f***in machine gun is psychedelia, lets not kid ourselves here

ill add first fairport for sure but I dont see much Psych rock in What We Did on Our Holidays besides the psych folky elements which i guess we arent really including

on the fence with Burrito Bros, a few psych aspects but it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest. Someone looking for psych rock would be confused by it

That scene where he tells the general about his son kills me. The whole ‘warm black dingus’ bit while the dude just looks so defeated
