Heard Nas dropped like his 3rd comeback album with that new joint, might have to throw on Belly for de mon
its pretty decent a couple listens in

Cool, ill give it a spin. Lyrically when Nas is focused he's still sharp but he got some misses along the way too. The better producer/beat selection is a valid argument imo.
but
to Nas for coming through and never aging

Well worth a listen. I’ve spun it twice today and it’s really a solid album

That's what a lot of people say
idk why he didn't work with better producers during his career. I heard mixtapes with people throwing his verses on Madlib and Pete Rock beats and it sounds amazing.
Getting roasted in other sections
lost track of how many times I been called a c***whatever that is
Also got hit with "virgin" the other day cause I said drake was corny

Yep and jay, biggie etc managed to land a bunch of beats that still sound amazing so it's not like they weren't around
Tupac had the same problem

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnw_UbJmmbYI had a crazy first nations best friend in grade 8-9 that worshipped a bunch of pubescent risecore s*** like NIN, Slipknot, Static-X
it was too much for me
Also extreme Bone Thugs fan which he converted me to and Tupac stan which I was already resisting back then

NIN is the only band that has survived from that era for me. Bands like Static X and Slipknot are fun to look back on but now I think its extremely.. I dunno, try hard and just immature in general.
The early rappers I really loved were Method Man, 2Pac, Busta Rhymes, Dre, Eminem
Oh and The Smashing Pumpkins too. But admittedly back then I didnt know what the f*** they were singing about, but musically I guess I got it.

Same, When Disaster Strikes was definitely in the first handful of rap albums I had and I still love the highlights. And I loved Method Man cause I had the early Wu compilation The RZA Hits which my best friend stole from his big brother and have to me probably just before grade 8. My big sister ended up marrying that big brother and had my nephew

NIN might have been thrown in with the Nu Metal crowd but musically and visually they were way different. Marilyn Manson wasn't either, dude had an album produced by Bowie in the 90's
Idk like heavy alternative or w/e haha

NIN was way before nu metal. Godflesh influenced it too and they both kinda shunned it. Korn in particular has a huge Godflesh influence.

A lot of kids heard NIN and thought "oh cool we'll just add some riffs with machine sounds and be angry"
Not realizing real anger and talent was required
