Drake isn't MAGA, he's just an empty husk of a person who accepts anything and anyone who helps him feel more successful, regardless of their political affiliation. I doubt he cares about MAGA at all outside of what it can do to boost his brand.
sounds like you described Kendrick
Hating Israel and supporting MAGA are not mutually exclusive. Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones and Charlie Kirk vocally criticized Israel.
Also, my point is that Drake is an opportunist. If it benefits Drake to big up Biden while he’s in office, he’ll do that. He doesn’t give a s*** about American politics, though he is definitely a capitalist.
Your first point is true now but wasn’t so much the case back when Drake signed the petition. But your second point I disagree with because all of his actual stances have been left wing. What benefit did Drake get out of supporting Biden, but not Trump’s second term?
Who are his “coworkers” you refer to? One of the closest people to him, 40, is a left wing socialist!
Kbots tried to say Drake is MAGA for not speaking out about white house using sound but quiet when Kendrick said nothing

What does Kendrick have to do with this? This is a Drake thread. Stay on topic

What benefit did Drake get from following the president on Instagram? Hopefully none, because that doesn’t matter at all.
I never called Drake MAGA. I said he wasn’t MAGA. I called him an opportunist who only makes his opinions public when they are uncontroversial and provide a net benefit to his brand. He’s never going to pull a Chappell Roan and make the majority mad because of his beliefs. Is that a hot take?

But the White House also used Money Trees and Kendrick didn’t say anything. Is the same true for him?

Does Kendrick hang out with MAGA streamers and call them his close friends?
Is this thread about Kendrick?

Akademiks, Adin Ross, xQc, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne
Does Kendrick hang out with MAGA streamers and call them his close friends?
Is this thread about Kendrick?
Wait why did you change the argument and move the goalposts? Afraid to stand on the original point you made?
The thread and recent conversation is specifically about Drake not denouncing the White House social media’s use of his work
This same social media has used Kendrick Lamar’s work in the same exact way and he didn’t say anything about it.
If we are saying Drake being silent about it is opportunistic or convenient or leaves ambiguity on what he stands for then the same must be said for Kendrick
The streamer argument you’re making is an attempt to seperate the two but it’s clear as day that they both treated the White House Twitter stuff the same way, with silence
I don’t even know which streamers you’re talking about so again, this would be a whole different argument. If you want to have a conversation about who Drake associates with, that’s another thing. Maybe make a thread about that. Is this thread about streamers?
But you were having a conservation about drake not denouncing his work being used by the White House, not which streamers he hangs with. That is, until I made you switch up, you intellectual p****

I just don't think that's true. Of course he is not some incredible activist, but even the pro-abortion bar on Her Loss, that is a polarizing issue, especially in the US, and I'm sure a meaningful amount of his listeners wouldn't have shared his view.
And his ceasefire petition came at a time where the public sentiment was very different to what it was now. Watch this for instance: x.com/FrankMagana15/status/2057890348618461540
I agree with you that none of his stances have hurt him that much, and that he likely wouldn't take a stance that would really cost him, but I disagree that all of his positions are uncontroversial.

“The streamer argument you’re making is an attempt to seperate the two”
No, actually, it’s presenting meaningful context for why this discussion is happening in the first place. Drake is not being called MAGA because he refused to denounce the White House. Drake’s associations with MAGA-adjacent public figures worked to form that image a few years ago.
Kendrick doesn’t have those associations, so to compare his silence over Money Trees to Drake’s is to suggest that Drake is only being called MAGA because of one (in)decision he made, which would be disingenuous.

It is a hot take considering he was one of the celebrities to silently sign the ceasefire very early. Probably in the top 3 biggest celebs to be named
Back in 2023 when many artists and celebs were p****footing
He’s never going to pull a chapelle roan because he’s not gonna get on social media or in public ranting about s***
Akademiks, Adin Ross, xQc, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne
To insinuate he has close relationships with these people is dumb. xQc he did one Stake stream with 18 months ago. Drake has done two songs with Nicki Minaj this decade and they clearly are not very close. Lil Wayne has done 1 song with Drake this decade and I don't think they speak much. He is not really "friends" with Akademiks, they are not close. Adin Ross sure but like, he's not travelling with Drake, at Drake's house, they did a few Stake streams and probably text a bit. Do you think he's taking political advice from any of those idiots? I don't like half of the relationships you listed, but I don't think they say much about his political views, other then he doesn't let politics get in the way of his relationships.
I just don't think that's true. Of course he is not some incredible activist, but even the pro-abortion bar on Her Loss, that is a polarizing issue, especially in the US, and I'm sure a meaningful amount of his listeners wouldn't have shared his view.

I’m not going to take a good decision away from Drake. He was right to do what he did, on a moral and also on a business level, because in the long run he did take the more publicly agreeable position. I don’t think he has inherently bad politics. I just don’t think he’s ever going to risk letting his politics hurt his brand.
Which is not unique to Drake, by the way. Most musicians are publicly apolitical.
Haha dumb ahh cracka
White kids listen to your tube cuz they feel some guilt and that's how your soul gets fulfilled

I think we pretty much agree but hindsight is 20/20, it wasn't guaranteed that the public opinion would shift to what it is today, if it was, you would have thought more people would have taken his position.
