I have seen this to be true repeatedly, like I don't like Drake's music much but I'll always give the guy a fair chance, I can't imagine locking yourself out of artists like this because of beef you're not even in

its a long awaited album from a beloved group that most people think is atleast really good, with clearly a lot of work heart and soul being put in iti understand i always have issues with fantano i dont think hes a good critic but being mad at this getting a really good score is stupid. i have to assume its that ovo hate train s*** that was the same as all over twitte rppl calling it ass when it leaked
You have to understand these people don't think for themselves. That's why they're always watching numbers to tell them if they should like something or not.
So a critic giving a review they don't like is a blow to them.

Hard to blame him for slight over appraisal in the same week we got new Drake and Travis. It's the ugly best friend equation where anything good would look f***ing amazing in comparison.

Every rating I'm unfortunate enough to see from this guy from this site feels performative and a way to appease the type audience he's built. This tweet points towards this. It just doesn't feel authentic but I haven't watched one of his videos in like a decade so maybe I'm wrong

You dont have to be a Drake stan to see that Fantano has been cynically engineering his scores to appeal to online communities and signal virtue for years
The way he hypes up the drops of his own reviews like "oooh whats he gonna give the new big album?" makes this so obvious
