    He has more viewers than ever before. I don't like him, or even watch his reviews, but he is undeniably correct about being the most relevant and impactful critic of his generation.

    However I think he is wrong about most relevant and impactful EVER - monoculture era critics like Christgau and Lester Bangs had far more sway over what people listened to.

    I agree getting upset over his opinion is stupid but actin like nobody knows him? Didn’t he get a DM from Drake? I think Eminem mentioned him in an interview once too. He just did an interview with Olivia Rodrigo

    Although... there is also the negative impact of his bigger reviews also influencing the RYM charts
    It does seem that 'Fantano-core' albums get higher ratings than deserved on RYM e.g. Denzel Curry - Taboo

    it's just a feedback loop imo. yh in rare cases w a controversial record he sways ppl for or against something but his taste in general is just a rym cliché and I overall see him as a product of rym, he's a rym user that a lot of normie rymers listen to but he's also just another rym user
