I think people care because when it comes to other "rap music critic" personalities, I feel Fantano bridges the gap the best between the casuals who clearly don't know much about the genre beyond the big names (all the reaction dudes or even these podcast dudes) and the genuinely pretentious a******s who think the only good rap is the underground or alternative s*** (shawn cee, myke c town, etc.)

not to say he isn't guilty of the latter in a way but I think he is the best you got when it comes to people who can acknowledge they listen to the alternative and underground rappers that most people ignore.

If he is ass because you don’t agree with him that’s a personal issue but in terms of what he looks for and how he judges based on the criteria that he uses, he has been consistent.

Pretty sure his top of the 10s didn't have a single trap/drill album on it. Too big of a blind spot for me to take him seriously
