It's been many a year since I've had anything from em but the quality is ass and from what I've heard that hasn't changed much but someone that has more recent experience with em might testify to something different

So i've tentatively decided against getting an Arc'teryx shell jacket, mainly because i cant find any i want in my size/colour
does anybody have any alternate recommendations for shell jackets that protect from rain, but are also fashionable

Are you actually wanting to go long periods in the rain with the jacket or just something to get you from A to B?
If it's the first option you should stick to Gore-tex Pro (not to be confused with other versions of Gore-tex) as it will get you through hiking activities and s*** however you might need a mid-layer to compliment it depending on your winters
If its the latter option you can experiment with a tonne of other options (also cheaper)

You can also find some older ACG shells on second hand websites but you'll most likely need to reapply the DWR coating on them (it repels the water)
Marmot, Kathmandu, Patagonia, Columbia, TNF, Outdoor Research will have their standard shells similar to the Arcteryx ones people are getting
