don't really lean one way or another on fakes but would personally never buy any fake gear.
i also don't buy the whole made in same factory s*** lol
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ donāt buy it? Itās a literal fact š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£. Regardless, people can get angry at reps all they want. The folks wearing them donāt give af. I have yet to meet a grown adult who cares about these things. Plus a lot of these fast fashion brands (mnml) just source from rep factories anyways, which shows how little people care
i think they are mizuno wave mujins but not sure about the exact model/colorway

damn thank you
Some people canāt afford authentic s***. Some people donāt want to pay resale prices.
Especially little kids in middle and high school. You canāt expect them to have multiple thousands to spend on clothes. Let them buy reps, itās not like thereās a huge drop off in quality anymore.
And if the argument is that itās bad that theyāre buying them to fit in. Then everyone needs to take a step back and remember how badly they wanted to fit in as teenagers too. Thatās just part of growing up.
Sachee says desire is knowing what you want while not having the means to get it. He calls it the most important part of fashion. This is a foreign concept to anyone with bread. There isnāt anything you want that you canāt just buy. Itās also now a foreign concept to him as he now says heās at the point where he can get anything he wants. So doesnāt he also lack desire? Isnāt his style longer evolving according to his own rules?
Just reading too much into it. I been collecting shoes for decades, buying designer for over a decade, the only thing that ever stopped me from buying reps was quality. The quality gap is shrinking so it just makes sense now.
Thereās metaphysical nuance to the argument about āfakesā that in itself can hardly be spoken of in a public setting. it is essentially bound with the word ācounterfeitā and the question of the symbolism of the thing, and what the greater thing is that is being communicated through the symbol. The only question to ask is āis there even an authenticity to what is being symbolised through the authentic or supposedly counterfeit product?ā Or is the cult-ure counterfeit in the first place? itās then a question of how naturally subservient one is, not only to a culture that is void of class distinction, but to a corporate master who acts as arbiter of that gelatinous and featureless āmass cultureā
Nigga f*** Grailed bruh. S***ty ass platform. Just got banned for no reason. S*** piss me off

Why don't they just buy s*** from the mall or vintage clothes like normal teenagers lol. No one expects a highschooler to walk around in Balenciaga and Rick Owens

is there real true authenticity, class, sophistication etc., behind luxury brands? there's lots of nuance and history from the brands themselves and from people that have worn them and given different meanings over time to make it not so simple
at a basic level it is just someone giving their money to a rich corporation that in some way has a hand in screwing over working class and poor people, so if thats where someone stands it doesn't concern them anyway and it is a simple answer of it being 100% no, and wearing reps or not wearing those brands at all makes sense with that distinction
ultimately people choosing to wear luxury brands, even fakes, is a statement, it is part of the style discussion and makes subversive style decisions stand out more to those paying attention, so in its own way its valuable to making culture
someone who dresses with more thoughtful intention will understand to a higher degree what they choose to wear and how they dress is informed and has reason beyond looking fantastical or cool or trendy or being a status symbol, so if that means wearing reps as some 4D chess move, then they can do that, I'm definitely not inclined to do that
the rabbit hole goes so deep that you can talk yourself in or out of wearing anything based on the level of understanding you have/perceive yourself to have, so I try to avoid going to that place and wear what I find to be fun and interesting and represents me as best I understand myself

take new pics with different background and repost it if it gets to a stage of sitting for too long

They can do that but they see their favorite rappers, influencers, social media people rocking certain stuff so they want it too
Thereās nothing wrong with that
People act like back on KTT1 F&S we aināt have young folks buying s*** just to get props from Woody, Trev, people in the pick up thread, try and get a FOTD, win a round of style wars, etc
Theyāre just kids. Telling them to not buy jordan 1s and buy some s*** that vaguely looks like a jordan 1 but isnātā¦when thereās something that DOES look like a jordan 1 with pretty good quality to matchā¦itās just an uphill battle.
Let kids be kids
Only thing thatās lame is buying reps then tryna flex like you got bread and that they arenāt reps. Thatās the only thing that should be getting called out.
But thereās nothing inherently wrong with buying reps

Apparently Grailed just rolled out a new payment system which has significantly lowered the amount of sales for all sellers

Reps usually aren't good quality lol but I get your point. I just feel like kids shouldn't opt out for trend hopping. Start small and develop your fashion sense rather then just wearing what's popular or because your favorite rapper wore it. Idk that's corny to me but kids are gonna be kids
