Trying to consciously not buy things because I like, and it is actually harder than it seems.

trying not to spend thousands on clothes is the ultimate test of self control

@hypebeaststyle: @rhuigi Villaseñor, the designer behind the luxury Los Angeles-based streetwear label @rhude, is facing accusations of stealing company funds to support his own “lavish lifestyle” in a federal lawsuit, according to reports.

Filed by George Robertson, an owner of a 20% stake in the Rhude brand, the lawsuit alleges that Villaseñor “has been pilfering the Rhude Companies’ coffers” to front his expensive bills, including those for “private jet travel, Italian vacations, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and a collection of $100,000 watches.”

Robertson, who is looking for compensation and the removal of Villaseñor’s executive power at Rhude Companies, also alleges in the suit that the designer raked in yearly revenues of more than $30 million USD. But as a co-owner, Robertson claims he has received annual distributions as low as $41,000 USD from Villaseñor.

The designer has not offered a statement on the situation.

Idk why people are shaming him as if they think he’s the only one. Who cares if he hid money from shareholders

Admittedly i dont know much about the laws he’s in trouble with, but shady business practices in any industry shouldnt go unpunished/unpublished? Its a lazy brand run by someone who’s been alleged to have scammed stakeholders in his company. I think its worthwhile to raise awareness of that at least

It makes sense that hypebeast would run this hit piece, but i draw the line at consumers moralizing this behavior when people have done much slimier things to the detriment of consumers within the industry (source: worked in the industry for 2 yrs)

Also, the child slave labor argument is valid here too. I could not care less that mr rhude boy hid profits from rich shareholders that 100x’d their 50k investment in an artificial streetwear brand

Yeah unless further or more substantial allegations of shadiness come out it’s ultimately

Just another conman outed in an industry rife with them.

it is always cathartic tho seeing these excessive instagram lifestyles ppl like rhuigi cultivate exposed as fradulent/ill-gotten
