I imagine they don't want people just standing around, window shopping. I think the worst thing luxury stores fear is someone trying to haggle an associate about prices.

I just wanted to see if there was anything that caught my eye in there lol, but I decided Gucci is just not for me after that interaction lol

I heard Chanel has the worst "in-store" experience for the average person. Rude/stuffy associates, being constantly watched and refusal of any type of customer service if they think your broke. So people need to know, when creative directors are speaking about their customer base in interviews, just know their talking to a very certain group.

I still applaud Chanel for being the only major high fashion label to avoid e-commerce. Makes this very well known brand maintain crazy exclusivity. I think you can call and make orders while browsing online but, I'm pretty sure you have to have an in-store account.
