It's interesting to learn how human beings think and how their motivations work when you look at advertising from a psychological perspective, as well as looking at it from a historical perspective and how advertising has changed, not to mention the entire artistic perspective. I don't think anyone in this thread (which has a great page 1) is caping for capitalism.

Yessir!! Matthew Weiner is the creator’s name & a writer and executive producer on The Sopranos. You’ll see a lot of similarities between the two when you watch it as well
