i'm gonna keep it real with you chief they were already doing that for the past 20 years
There are people storming capitals over covid lockdowns talm bout "mY FrEEdUmB", but their elected representatives are passing this
Considering the majority of American's did not exactly give a toss when Snowden revealed the extent of the Patriot's Act I doubt they will now
Americans are the biggest pussies in the world lol
Had any other country had that happen there would be violent riots in the streets

lmao you realize that there are other countries with similar spy programs and most of them are cooperating with the NSA regardless...
It is pretty ubiquitous, and the countries that haven’t been caught are most likely just getting away with it
Thanks Trump
The Patriot Act is hardly anything new... It has been reauthorized and expanded on under 3 different Presidents.

and british people
As if they haven't been doing this. These ISP's have been willingly handing over our data forever. NSA has already been exposed, and there has been little to no change.
You can see this story has gotten very little traction and there's a reason for that. Americans have been convinced that their privacy comes second to the governments overbearing sense of security and protection. Which the FBI has been infringing on our rights since forever and the government will continue to because who is going to stop them?
... werent they already doing this with the patriot act? This was just to remove it correct?
Yes it was an amendment to require them to have a warrant, they haven’t needed one all this time bc
The vice journo completely misinterpreted it, shocker
They were already doing it before, theyre just more open about it now
Realistically, it gives them the ability to use the evidence they find in court.
