    😂 he did

But now he claims "it was just the Neptunes beats".. even tho he never praised Kelis, JT, NERD, Snoop, etc like Tyler did

Did he say this for real lmao, then how come he never even got a Pharrell beat on a record

    Yeah he did

He was like "I was just a kid, I wanted to be in Star Trek".. there was dishonesty in his voice/body language to me

Push challenged his authenticity with the ghostwriting bullshit so he’s doing it back. He has no such issues with Ross.

Makes me laugh when Jay stans try to say Ether juvenile and childish when on Takeover Jay calls Nas a f@g, ~brutally~ exposes Prodigy as having done dance classes as a kid! and says "u know who did u know what with u know who"

The funny thing is Hov, the bigger artist at the time, was mentioning him.

They were pretty equal in terms of popularity during that era.

Jay tried to kick Nas when he was down and that s*** backfired and almost ended his career. The audio equivalent of picking a fight with a pencil neck geek who is seemingly weaker than you and getting your ass beat senseless by him in front of all of your peers.

    he absolutely deserved it tho

2001 was when it did make sense though. Nas hadn't the dropped an album since nastradamus in 2001 then he comes with oochie wallie and the disappointing QB finest album. His stock was the lowest it had ever been. But yeah the line aged badly as soon as ether dropped

The Firm album was a letdown too lmao I bet a lot of fans were so frustrated with Nas.

Ether being overrated is the lamest revisionist history in all of rap. So glad it’s not a mainstream opinion

before stillmatic, nas was kinda seen in the same way as chance. super praised debut at a young age that got insane hype, a good sophomore album that got backlash from og fans, and then some s*** people thought was straight up garbage. obviously, nas’ reputation was still way better than Chance’s now, but that’s kinda where he was at.
