That carti feature writer/ghostwriter still wrote and recorded the carti verse before his ai voice changer was put on it. The beat was still made by Pharrell. It has real weeknd writing and recording on it. It was structured weeknd and his team. It’s a real song with a dumbass ai carti feature

Fenix song was entirely ai generated. They typed in some prompts and this song was spat out.

Perhaps letting weeknd off the hook is part of the slippery slope and direction that lead to rubbers being a massive song but they’re still different cases. I would judge someone a lot more for spinning rubberz than I would for spinning timeless

I said the same thing in the Chad Hugo Tierra Whack thread where niggas just glossed over them using Ai scenes for the Music Video vs niggas being completely ready to throw away Alchemist and Badu legacies for their AI cover art
Niggas cherry picking lol its either all or nothing. The actual answer is its hundreds of ways to use AI and the only thing that should be frowned upon is type prompt > generated material > straight to release (as opposed to it just being an asset in something larger you created) ; but niggas gotta wait for their fav to cosign that lol

AI made that track, sure—but I still have ears. If a song sounds good, it sounds good. People judge music by how it makes them feel, not by whether a human or a model arranged the notes. “AI cooked” is just another way of saying the end result exceeded expectations.

Telling someone to “stfu” because they like a song is a weird substitute for having an actual opinion. If you think the song is trash, explain why. Was the flow bad? Were the lyrics weak? Was the production generic? That’s a conversation. “Stfu” is just admitting you don’t have an argument.

Music has always evolved with technology. People said synthesizers would ruin music. Then Auto-Tune. Then digital production. Now AI. Every generation acts like the newest tool is the apocalypse until it becomes normal. Whether AI ends up dominating or not, pretending good music can’t come from it is just closing your ears before you even hit play.

I’m not saying AI is replacing artists or that every AI song is amazing. Most of them are garbage. But every once in a while one actually slaps, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise just because it was made differently. I care about the output more than the process.

If your standard is “I refuse to enjoy this because AI touched it,” that’s your choice. My standard is much simpler: does it sound good? If the answer is yes, I’m adding it to the playlist. I don’t need permission from the internet to enjoy a three-minute song.

So no, I won’t “stfu.” I’ll keep saying when something is fire, whether it was made with a guitar, a laptop, or an AI model. You don’t have to agree with my taste, but telling me to stop talking because you disagree is a lot less convincing than just making a better argument.
