Finished Rebirth ... Damn.

Part of me like let me play the remakes and play kingdom hearts so I am just fully ready for all of squarenix next year

but I also want to play resonance but steam sales of square next time might as well scoop these

That feeling in ff7 remake when you’ve got both special ability bars for all the people in your party, staggered your opponent, and you just back to back line up all the strongest attacks and watch them all fry the enemy health bar so satisfying

Did they change the combat system for rebirth at all or is it the same pretty much?

It’s the same but way better

Fundamentals are there just improved aerial combat and new team-up moves called “synergy”.

Plus gameplay too this week, since they’ll have a live press demo at gamescon iirc. They did something like that with Rebirth and content creators could release B-roll footage while talking about the game. The week should be good for FF7 fans.

One missed opportunity with revelations is not having the ability to switch among all characters on the team in battle. That s*** would be tuff.

On Chapter 9 of Remake right now, just defeated the house and this game is kinda dragging I'm the type to do everything in a game so I'm doing all the optional side quests before advancing the story. Idk if this is actually the case but this game actually feels padded, like they stretched out parts from the original to lengthen the playing time. Because the side content boils down to "Find these kids around town", "Defeat this many enemies". Playing the game feels like I'm doing filler until I get to advance the story or I'm fighting a challenging boss like a Turk

Still having fun with the combat, I hope they actually give you a full party for a large portion of my remaining playtime though. I feel like I'm limited when it comes to materia slots with 2 characters, I'm constantly adjusting my equipped materia between fights. So far, there was one small point where both Barrett and Tifa were in my party but that was over quickly and this part with Aerith and Cloud has felt so long

Lmao I suggest you don't do all of the side stuff if you're going onto Rebirth next.
I did & had like 80 hours in Rebirth, unlocked all of the map and did all of the side quests, but some of that stuff really is unneccessary padding, it really left me burned out.
Great game, but I think it works best if you focus on the story and do some of the side quests that really interest you, not all of them.
Especially some of the minigames, they're god awful.

On the other hand, Queen's Blood is 10/10 and one of the best side quests ever, don't skip that if you like Gwent or similar card game stuff in games.
