The narrow space slowdown was the worst one for me, especially at Wall Market, actually I think it's tied between that and the god awful camera in small ass rooms. Flying enemies frustrating af to fight sometimes too
I noticed the forced walking sections but it didn't bother me that much, sometimes I think its done because the game wants you to hear dialogue before getting to a certain location.
I think there was like 3 side-quests that I liked, the rest just felt like filler/busywork and kinda brought down the game for me tbh, I believe that only a few of these actually gave worthwhile rewards too.
I kinda wish there was less side quests and more VR battles instead cause I really f***ed with those.
Theres not much for exploration on this either for a FF game but I guess thats gonna be on the next part (i'm hoping so anyway)
Wall Market ones in particular are especially stupid to me because every single narrow alley you go into, you're forced to walk in them, even ones that have no NPCs. Why???
Also forgot to add these to my tedious list:
• can't use items from inventory menu, meaning you have to go Commands > Items > Potion > Character, repeat multiple times. You can't just choose an item and keep using it until you're finished. Such a basic mechanic that there's no excuse for not having it
• any time you are in an "instance area" (wall cracks, crouching, forced trailing scenes), OR whenever there is any information (like when you open a chest/break crates and the items pop up on screen), you cant access party menu until everything on screen is back to normal. It's ridiculous how hitting "options" on my controller will just pause the game if the screen just has a notification that says "you got a hi potion". I do this s*** all the time and its so annoying

Lmfaoo, bro the biggest tip that I found out AFTER I BEAT THE F***ING GAME was that:
If you press the touchpad during combat, you can actually view enemies you previously inspected. So you don't have to inspect enemies multiple times or if you have inspected them before

Is inspecting important? I always forget to do this?

Most important thing in combat cause you can see what enemies are weak too and it gives you tips on how to approach an enemy. This is like the first thing I do when I meet a boss or new enemy

Lmaoooo wow. Didnt know this either.
i always just said f*** it and brute forced them cause i didnt wanna waste ATB.
Next you're gonna tell me that there's a secret way for you to switch between weapons in the upgrade screen so you dont have to go through the dumbass cutaway into/outro for every single one

Bro doing this completes intel that unlocks some of the best materia in the game

Just tryna help cause im still mad as s*** I found out about this after I already beat the game
The only things about the game that were tedious to me are:
• the forced walking sections
• any time you have to go through a narrow space in a wall
• the monkey bar sections (seriously the worst parts of this entire game)
• how sensitive the (Δ) objects are, like buttons and doors. For some reason, like halfway through the game it was like if i didnt approach them perfectly and stand in the right spot, i had to walk in a circle and try again
• fighting sahagins, AKA "lol wouldn't it be funny if we made the player fight 4 of them at the same time, twice?"
Everything else, including the side quests, have all served a narrative purpose or gave good rewards. It's not like there's a lot of them anyway, it may seem like they take forever cause of how slow Cloud moves sometimes (or when you're forced to walk).
I didn't have any problem doing any of them cause getting any item/money/equip that could make hard mode a little easier is def worth it. (Getting a ps trophy is also worth it to me lol.)
didnt have a problem with any of these but i hated the the hold triangle for door switches, the terrible lock on camera and the camera spazzing out in tight spaces like in wall market
So I’m on chapter 9 right now and I gotta say, the last few chapters have been kind of bleh. Still GOTY, don’t get me wrong.
I feel like a lot of the s*** it’s making me do is boring and tedious, and the rewards are never equal in payout. I’m not even asking for rewards like items or Materia or any of that, I kinda just want the story to progress. That’s all I ask.
It’s like an hour of busy work for 5 minutes of story progression.
Anyone else feel this way? Does this improve?
I agree. Im just met up with Aerith and im lovin the game but im not addicted. I really like so much about this but running aroind with aerith i did find myself getting bored. I have a lot of thoughts why but ill wait until i beat the game. Im kinda thinking a spoiler thread for this could be advantageous.

Holy s*** I’ve really been missing out then. I’ll start doing this.

i kinda liked the part where youre alone with aerith, going from all that hectic s*** to a more peaceful and relaxing segment felt nice
This s*** got a 40 minute installation time WITH disc?
All in all, this is a solid 9/10 maybe even a 9.5. What holds it back for me are the technical issues like the camera a LOT, it’s not horrible but Jesus they need to fix that in the next one.
Other than that, I love the hell out of this. 39 hours well spent.
The ending I’m growing to love the more I think of it. Can’t wait to discuss it with y’all
