This game is great but the OG way better, this one kinda lacking in atmosphere. The OG was dark af but I think they had to tone it down here cause of the teen rating, they straight up had to remove an iconic scene in this from the OG unfortunately

I'm only on Chapter 14, but I'm curious now

A long video but probably the best one on the remake I’ve seen. Goes into a lot of detail on the concept of remakes and all the little things that went into it. I also like how this seems to understand that the ending is meta commentary on remakes in general.

For the most part it was a great game. They flubbed the ending a bit but it wasnt enough to destroy my experience, but it's concerning for the rest of the story.

Gasping isnt something people actually do 45 times in a conversation.

I still give it a 8.5/10
It was a 9, but the back tracking and the ending hurt my enjoyment a bit

Nothing compares to OG. I don’t care what year it is, you’ll get enjoyment out of OG no matter what.

Kinda the opposite for me, my original rating for this was 8 but the ending actually raised this to an 8.5 for me just because the battle sequences at the end was some of the best battle sequences I have ever seen in gaming. Gotta give it to Nomura cause he does s*** like that really well.

What hurt the game for me was mostly the technical stuff like the camera being trash. Also design choices that I already went over like the enemy AI ignoring your team mates.

Side quests were also pretty bad, flying enemies are made frustrating to fight for no reason, the dodge doesn't have i-frames which is a pretty weird design choice since it seems like every game with a dodge has this nowadays like I got used to it but it still bothered me and kinda rendered the dodge useless in some situations and obvious padding in some areas like the whole f***ing claw mini-game with Aerith.

I have like so many more complaints about the game but this s*** was so fun that it still gets an 8.5. Made me glad for the first time that this is episodic, hopefully they learn from this first release and fix it in other episodes

Suggestion for the fam: after beating this play Crisis Core on a PSP or emulation.

Idk. How I feel about the future. I mean I still had alot of fun. If they improve on this then I'll be happy as can be

My biggest complaint is probably them changing the way you meet sephiroth in the shinra building, that s\*\*\* was such a classic scene and the fact that we are never getting that in a remake upsets me

Is there a way to grind xp in this game? I'm at a fight that I'm clearly underclassed for (like 1 hit kill) but every fight up until now has been easy as s***

To be fair I've barely done any sidequests before this but it seems broken that I just gotta be stuck here. Is it a game mechanic I'm missing?

Oh dam I thought you was talking about a boss, thats pretty crazy only time I remember being one shot was a move by a boss. If anything try to use HP UP Materia so you don't get one shot. Can't say I have any advice except trying to stagger them as fast as possible tho
