Cop it bro
This game is great but the OG way better, this one kinda lacking in atmosphere. The OG was dark af but I think they had to tone it down here cause of the teen rating, they straight up had to remove an iconic scene in this from the OG unfortunately
What’d they remove?
What’d they remove?
the last part in shinra hq where you follow the blood trail and it leads to the Shinra presidents dead body impaled by Sephirots sword
Understandable why they removed it with the rating and all tho
Playing XV now and this s*** is clearly unfinished after chapter 9. The story just becomes so rushed and the dialogue and animations are unpolished

make sure you got Royal Pack installed for the way more episode chapter 14 at least

Yea got royal edition with PS5
Feel like I wasted 50 hours doing meaningless side quests though.

haha I loved just cruising around and doing s***, no other game with that same road trip feel IMO, stopping at motels grabbing gas etc
but yeah if you're not feeling it in chapter 9 probably just rush through to the end to wrap it up at least

I don’t hate it at all. I like fishing and the hiso alien side quest was pretty dope. But over all I find a lot of the side quests tedious.

oh yeah most of it's just filler to give you reasons to travel the world - once I made peace with that I didn't mind so much
unfortunately once you leave Altissia the last stretch is mostly linear story progression, at least until the last couple hours in royal chapter 14
i love the remake

||Just beat chapter 13 and during it I could just waltz into the huge door with the throne in it that was supposed to be locked. Definitely a glitch as I just clipped through it but decided to walk out and progress the story naturally to unlock the door.
At another point when Noctus was trying to rescue Prompto, Prompto’s character never loaded in and he was invisible. It’s also so frustrating that they drop these plot bombs on you and don’t explain them at all. And the characters are just like okay cool.||

Hmm what system you playing on? I never had any glitches really beyond a few performances hitches and a couple little oddities (Noctis randomly warping into the sky once as he got out of the car lmao)
Yeah the story stuff like this is definitely a pain, but at the very least they did explain some of that in more detail in the Episode DLCs they did.

On PS5 which I would assume is the best platform to play it on? Get a stable 60fps on lite graphics option
But aside from these nitpicks I do think it’s a fun game, and the story does pull your heart strings even if it gets a little cheesy at times

Huh weird, never had anything that bad on the base PS4. The story definitely has its moments - when they nail it, it's pretty great ("Off my chair, jester... the king sits there.")
I don’t know if this is video game sacrilege or whatever but there is highkey too much to do in ffvii
I’m a mild completionist when it comes to video games but this s*** just requires too f***ing much man and the fact that you damn near need to play the game with a guide by your side to make sure you don’t miss any of the good weapons / materia is even more annoying
I can’t believe they’re actually stretching the content out for the remake, if anything they should have trimmed some of the fat.
Imma get these ultimate weapons and limit breaks though
PS5 version coming & PC. Not to Xbox as expected.
"Final Fantasy VII Remake PlayStation 5 Is More Substantial Than a Resolution Increase; Also Coming to PC – Rumor"
"Here's what I last heard, though: It's releasing for PS5/PC (No Xbox) and it's a bit more substantial than a resolution increase. There’s new story content."
"The thing is, the port was supposed to be announced in the Future of Gaming event alongside Athia, XVI & Avenger's Spider-Man. Those announcements were spread out in the past few months and only this port remains.
8 months have passed though and there's the possibility my information might be outdated by now, that's why I chose not to talk much about the content of the port and just confirm its existence. I guess there's also the possibility it might've been canceled but I highly doubt that's the case."
Also - it's not a free upgrade.
