The best comparison you could actually make vocal wise (and this is why a lot of ppl f*** with his s***) is he kinda sound like Donell Jones tone-wise to the point it's kinda scary.

MVP Pinheadhe’s good and has potential but his music definitely lacks something I can’t quite pinpoint
it's the writing/content.
It showed in that one song he dropped a while ago that was like his positive song for women and the hook was pretty much "somebody gotta show you off" like....huh?
like....the art of songwriting has definitely taken a backseat in the last few years in the field of mainstream R&B, especially cause the whole nihilist "idgaf, make it dark" vibes have penetrated every goddamn facet of the genre now so no one even conveys any other emotions.

I love Brent, but I think what makes his voice stand out is his unique tone and cadence, not necessarily his strength as a vocalist. That’s not to say he’s a weak singer, though, because he knows how to operate within his range and maximize his strengths vocally. His unique tone does play a large factor, though.
