it was advertised as $20/hr and I could see ppl doing it for a quick check and dipping. At least a $13/hr check isn’t that much of a net loss

thought you weren't getting paid at all forget what i said

If they try to stuff you in a cargo container, make sure to try and hide a switchblade in your ass beforehand.

Do Real Estate Photography or Sales.

Damn… real estate photography sounds like a pretty solid part time gig. What goes into that? I’m guessing you probably need a decent camera for that s*** as well. Also I have no f***ing photography portfolio either

Search online gigs for their requirements. Purchase your cameras from pawn shops (usa pawn is #1 you can upgrade fast w/o breaking the bank) Most Real Estate Photo gigs will teach you how to take photos. Just get the gear and study techniques.

If u can get a basic canon dslr, Canon 10-18mm Lens, put the os magic lantern on your memory card, you'll get hella far lol.

Make sure you get this type of tripod. Ball Head Tripod (search Real Estate Photo Tripods)

Try looking for assistant pm jobs, they seem to have minimum requirements of customer service or basic computer skills

Lowkey a really f***ing good idea. Been considering part time work cause I’m tryna make the move to Chi once I get into the program I applied to and this seems like a relatively easy job that doesn’t sound boring as f***. Plus it will give me an excuse to explore the city and take photos cause I’ve been meaning to do that.

Imma look more into this. Thanks for the post homie

13 boss said it’s just to see that I show up every day on time

Sounds like one of the customer support/sales agent gigs that's run by a private business that signs finite contracts with large companies to provide those services. They typically hire a tons of people and then basically fire them all and replace the whole staff every few weeks. There's a ton of them. They will keep a few people around but only the ones who "perform the best" (aka, overwork themselves or give absolutely no pushback about scheduling or pay).

There's an office near my old house that opened ~15 years ago and started as AT&T account support. Then a couple years later it changed to support for certain Microsoft software. Then it became support for an anti-virus software product. And so on... The last time i checked it was doing customer support for LifeLock. And ever since the office opened, they'd be routinely hiring and laying off a couple dozens people every 2-3 weeks.

I could be totally wrong about your specific job being one of these of course, I'm just saying that's what it sounds like at first glance. Try asking some of your new coworkers how long they've been there, or what all they know about the place

But dont quit out of paranoia about it or anything. Unless you for sure find out something like they dont plan on keeping you very long, or that they arent increasing your pay like they said they would, then just keeping making money while you can. (Unless its actually a pyramid/MLM, then you should sprint out the door and never look back.)
