i think starbucks was thinking this would be good PR for them, and now it’s backfiring. i doubt they’ll be as open to allowing a voting process for employees, or at the very least they will make it way more difficult lol

but yeah this definitely set a precedent for other Starbucks. others in the are were voting for unionization as well

in all seriousness out of every business that should get unionized Starbucks is literally like the last one

they're so good to employees, sometimes unions are a negative due to who they're controlled by

it's not totally cut and dry but people are always supporting them lol

yep i agree for sure. like i said in op, it’s respectable the workers were able to organize and get something like this done, but i figured things like this would start happening lol

i think starbucks already realizes their mistake, and soon the workers will too lol

Details on their specific concerns about the covid protocols?

from the article i put in OP -

According to the group, the workers left Wednesday morning due to “unsafe working conditions.”

“They have been pressured to work by Starbucks despite understaffing and health concerns,” Starbucks Workers United wrote. “We believe everyone deserves the right to feel safe at work! Partners will return when it’s safe to do so.”

Among the five employees who walked out of the morning shift, they say that although co-worker is infected and up to ten others are in isolation with Covid symptoms, they feel pressured to work unless they show symptoms. But Starbucks spokesman Reggie Borges says that, even without symptoms, they can isolate if they were in direct contact with a positive case.

The workers also say they were told not to enforce the mask mandate on customers. But Borges says that workers have the option of enforcing it, but are not encouraged to enforce the mask mandate because it tends to cause conflict with customers.

Workers should take the mile tf. They're the sole reason why Starbucks is even able to generate revenue. Why would you be against them using their newly found rights as unionized workers? That's the whole point of a union lol

Yeah this actually makes sense. Does starbucks hire for them or does that individual place able to hire?
