i haven’t seen the numbers personally but i would bet $50 that white men makeup that majority

In America probably but only because they're the majority at 75% of the population

you’re falling into the trap of equating seeing visibility in regards to pushing for progression and equality as the same as “endorsing”

When the status quo and assumed “normal” is being heterosexual then by default anything outside of that is going to be seen as unusual. We see concessions get made on surface level thru w/ identity politics like seeing a POC or Queer character in a movie but just because companies (for numerous reasons) are now pushing for better representation for decades of a marginalized group that hasn’t seen people like them without it feeling like a token or fetishized. Does that make sense? Sort of how in the gaming community if you’ve noticed over the years the weird backlash you can see from various actors who claim companies only implement x,y,z for pandering. Imagine how things like this feel for those in the community, simply wanting to see people like you and feel normal is taken as an extra step, a chore almost.

And now that this new culture war is starting a Republicans in general can use the heightens awareness around this topic to strike fear and rouse up people, spread misinformation, make you believe that this is truly a bigger debate that will infringe up you (you or I as in Hetero) people way of living. When it is false. They are simply trying to demand access to basic needs and acknowledgement as equals.

It does make sense, and I see your point entirely. When I said "endorsing", it made it sound like an inherently bad thing (as if it was astroturfing or something), which was not my intention. Rather, a better word would be "amplifying" -- it is undeniable that a tiny minority of the population has somehow become the subject of this enormous national scrimmage because of such mild social concessions in popular media, when the truth is they'd likely rather to be left the f*** alone and just allowed to live their lives.

@Synopsis I see your point too; I also don't want to see any kids die because they cannot match their form with their mind. I also don't want to see kids die because they've made a permanent decision based on their evolving personality.

Learning what I have from this thread, I really wouldn't want to universally slam the gavel on someone providing treatment to a trans kid. I do not think this is an issue that should be decided from the top-down at all, actually -- these rifts in opinion are why we have states. Do I condemn Ron DeSantis for taking this stance? I don't -- but I also don't think his authority should extend to other states with a more material or progressive view of the issue, either.

Pedos can look anyway. But the idea that trans people are pedos is the stereotype being pushed by white men. So some self awareness is needed from them.

it's not being pushed by a race in particular. Plenty of Latinos on that right wing machismo s*** too

A ban that will do absolutely nothing, and people will maybe realize (or just finally accept) that all the fear mongering about transpeople harming children and women in bathrooms was just a myth created by the people who actually do it the most...white men.
