    This is the difference

    All of the greats take from past greats, it’s whether or not you successfully add your own swag to it

    Putting disco drums in a f***ing Nirvana song is insane. Elvis stealing whole songs from black singers isn’t the same at all

    Yup that's the issue frfr. Not the influence but the fact that he ain't give black artists their flowers at the time. An issue that still continues today

    I feel like Ive seen Dave Grohl praise black artist hes inspired by a lot

    @Nessy is there a difference?

    Dave: put old disco drum grooves on new grunge songs
    Elvis: copied whatever was hot at the time on black radio that white audiences didn’t know about

    Yea theres a difference

    Dave seems like a really nice guy tbh

    He even brings up the point that MJ should’ve paid out royalties

    It’s a pretty wild read. Quincy went HAM. Wildly disrespectful, really.

    Very interesting read. This was wild as f*** like you said.

    There's a balance. He's talented but again it just shows how influential black musicians are. Caucasian Europeans are venerated as these amazing musicians/artists when it's really them using our chops (Foo Fighter), licks, runs, style (elvis), flow (Non-Action Bronson), overall our stories because 99.9% of their culture doesn't have rhythm.

    They'll win awards over actual talents (Macklemore). I guarantee there's a higher percentage of nirvana listeners on this site than Gap or Cameo listeners.

    And how do u explain black artists sampling non black artists? U cant seriously compare dave grohl to elvis or some s***
