Was listening to albums from 06, trying to see what was the best Hip Hop album of the year and after listening to Lupe's debut I was amazed at how trash this s*** is.

Nerd Hop at its finest, the blueprint for artists like Big Sean and The Cool Kids but it's really an awful f***ing album.

I know critics spontaneously combusted when this dropped but this s*** is just corny.

F&L is still a classic album what are you on

It would've been much better though, the leaked version of that album aligns with Lupe's vision more and he had more hunger on it. If we got the 2003 version of that album it would've been his masterpiece for sure, like listen to his songs from that time and you'll be amazed by how good he was

Yeah, he can rap well, but the content on the album we got was just weak compared to rappers in similar spaces.

I might go thru each album.cause I remember enjoying The Cool & T&Y & not much else of his discog and the corny vibe of F&L is the main reason why.

It's not overrated but I'll admit people put Lupe on such a high pedestal because of his first two albums

Bro what? The content was one of the main highlights of F&L. He touched on many different topics like:

• Uplifting raps
• World issues
• Consumerism
• Love
• Skateboarding

etc. etc. when other albums around that time period was mainly about hustling and gangster s***. F&L was a fresh breath of air in comparison and what Lupe rapped about still holds up to this day.

Hasnt aged well at all imo.

Sounds even more contrived now then it did in 06.

I always preferred The Cool personally

It’s still a good album and there are a bunch of undeniably classic songs on it. However, the version that leaked was better. He took some songs off and what he replaced them with were not up to par.
