Been wanting to make this thread for a min just ain’t really have the time tbh but yeah. Instead of a divisive 30-track playlist, two strong shorter albums could've rivaled his best.
Quick notes:
Main issue with FATD is its length and sequencing. Half the tracks form a narrative about a breakup with Hayley Karrina in the Bahamas, while the rest are energetic bangers. It could've worked as two cohesive albums:
Narrative Album: True For All The Dogs
1)Virginia Beach
2)Stories About My Brother
3)Amen (ft Teezo Touchdown)
4)Calling For You (ft 21 Savage)
5)Fear of Heights
6)Search & Rescue
7)7969 Santa
8)Slime You Out (ft Sza)
9)The Shoe Fits
10)You Broke My Heart
11)Tried Our Best
12)Drew A Picasso
13)Evil Ways (ft. J. Cole)
14)BBL Love (Interlude)
15)What Would Pluto Do
16)8am In Charlotte
17)Bahama Promises
18)Members Only (ft PARTYNEXTDOOR)
19)Polar Opposites
Banger Album: More lit SH3
1)Red Button
2)Daylight
3)First Person Shooter (ft J Cole)
4)IDGAF (ft. Yeat)
5)Gently (ft Bad Bunny)
6)Rich Baby Daddy (ft Sexy Redd & Sza)
7)Another Late Night (ft Lil Yachty)
8)All The Parties (ft Chief Keef)
9)Screw The World (Interlude)
10)Wick Man
11)Away From Home
12)Bonus: On The Radar Freestyle
Every song on the first tracklist, though not all directly tied to the narrative, fits thematically and tonally. Fear of Heights is the most different but it would provide energy and the Rihanna roast fits well with the relationship themes.
For the second tracklist it’s bangers and bars top to bottom.
Confident that this split would have resulted in two classics instead of another polarizing release. Oh well, such is life.
I’ve been listening to both of these playlists since the SH3 expansion and I can’t go back. If anyone wants to check try them out for themselves here are the am links:

Yo I appreciate the guys who added each playlist, let me know what you guys think.
Made a few changes just to tighten up some transitions and man I firmly believe this is the best way to experience these songs.
If FATD & SH3 actually dropped like this I would think they would both be top 5 Drake albums at least, with FATD possibly being a magnum opus. Sequencing really is everything

Quick notes:
Stopped reading there
Nah I'm just playin I read it all, but in all seriousness though, I agree with you pretty much entirely. This could've been split into 2 albums and the R&B side could've been bolstered with some of the tracks he cut like I'm The Problem. I'm not sure why with his main releases since Scorpion he's felt the need to give a little bit of everything on every release. His best stuff this decade has been the focused projects which have a common theme/sound/tying factor like DLDT (sound) and Her Loss (sound/theming).
I get the impression that he's realized how the consumption of music has changed in the streaming era and understands how his versatility is a HUGE reason for his major popularity. So he tries to feed every section of the fanbase on a regular basis out of fear of them potentially losing interest. But I don't think that's what would happen.
With his working speed he could put out 1 focused project every year and still feed each section of his fanbase with more music than most popular rap artists do at all these days (5 years). Say 1 R&B/singing focused album, 1 rap focused album, 1 experimental etc...

Good stuff @op !
I made your playlists into one long playlist because I didn't want to jump back and forth between 2 different projects.
I also added a few extras:
At The Gates
Yves Saint Laurent
Vital
I'm The Problem

How do Stories About My Brother and Evil Ways make any sense being on the “Narrative” part of the album?
Those should be on the second part with Away From Home being on the first part

The album needs balance I said in the post that not every song has to fit the narrative, those songs are soulful so they are sonically compatible
Listen to the transitions yourself and tell me they ain’t smooth

Respect bro. This approach is more straightforward with all the rnb tracks on one and rap tracks on the other. I wanted to create something that was still a little diverse while retaining that cohesive album vibe
Nah 19 songs still too much. We need a lean 13-15 track mainstream release
It’s around the same length as Take Care
Really used that as the blueprint
I love the album how it was intended tbh only one skip to me and that's cause I don't speak Spanish

I feel you. We need a modern era NWTS
