Nah this is not like MBDTF. That time is insane.

This isn’t like anything else really, this is its own thing. Ye and JIK were weak and Donda as a project had much more weight associated with it. So Donda was put up or shut up for Kanye and people (outside of critics, which I’m not sure why anyone needs someone else to tell them how they should feel about music) seem to like it 🤷🏾‍♂️

Well you’re here to experience him now & that’s most important! I was there for the 2010 rollout & literally the only thing that’s different in my eyes is he’s no longer the critic’s darling. Other than that, DONDA era is matching MBDTF era for me in every way. The music is very close to MBDTF quality for me, and even his leaked tracks like LOTP are flawless. What a time to be alive

As the residential old head let me jump in and say that College Droupout really didnt have an era persay as he was an unproven commodity outside of producing and really only us chitown fans were checking during the leadup to CD. LR era was really the hoopla that surrounded the George Bush/Katrina controversy. Now the Graduation era was something else. For me I was 20 turned 21 during that era and it was insane. From the cant tell me nothing mixtape dropping start of summer through the leaks into the sales race with 50 that was a summer to remember.

I think because of the LP and the buzz that built for months during this DONDA era its damn near number 1 era. Those other eras where goated for hardcore Ye fans like us that kept up with all things Ye. Donda because of the LPs and living in the MBS was more in the public for everyone to consume. No casual can tell you that ye went to Hawaii but all casuals and non fans know that this man was living in the MBS and saw the bedroom pic and the soldier field set etc, The more I think its crazy how no other artist come close to ye when its album rollout time.

Man I can talk Kanye all damn day lol. I know a lot of fans on here are damn near post 808s and later fans and I love to give any insight into early ye years. Speaking of 808s that was a crazy era cause everyone I know I was trashing Ye after Love Lockdown at the VMAs. By the time the album dropped everyone was riding to Heartless, Amazing, etc.
