i'm not so sure. the first practice sessions are on thursday, they're really firing him 24-48 hrs before? this probably could've been handled before the car launch or testing. part of me feels like they've waiting to clear him just before the start of the season so it gets buried under all the other news surrounding f1's return. i feel like if he was gone they've would've wanted to do it as early as possible and not wait this long

Eh, they had to get a whole report together (100 pages) I don’t thinking timing has much to do with it. It’s more making sure it’s ironclad, whichever direction they do go.

Because Ramadan starts the following Sunday, so the Saudi Arabia Race has to be on a Saturday. And because of logistics and the workload they do the race in Bahrain on Saturday too
